Every Role Matters

One of the cultural values at Glints is Beginners’ Mindset. This encourages Glintstars to adopt a beginners’ learning spirit and has helped Glints and Glintstars grow consistently till date.

Another cultural value that has contributed to Glints' growth is Impact. This value motivates every Glinstar to do meaningful work, not just for themselves, but also for its customers and organization.

1. Tong Jieqi, Data Engineer, Singapore

Let’s meet Tong Jieqi, a Data Engineer from the Singapore Team in Glints. She is one of Glints’ earliest employees and has been growing with Glints since 2015!

As someone who seeks a job that benefits others, Jieqi finds it meaningful to work at Glints. She has had many opportunities to help people grow and develop their career. This is the main reason why she has been with Glints for over 7 years now.

She successfully developed a tool that allows Glints’ consultants to support candidates in their job search.

In addition, she also played a part in solidifying the foundation for the systems at Glints.

She chose to work at Glints for her first job because she knew that Glints wanted to build a product to help individuals realize their potential and develop their career. She now plays a key role in the pursuit of the company’s goal. .

2. Brian Kuo, Senior Consultant for Glints Taiwan

Next, let’s meet Brian Kuo, a Senior Consultant for Glints Taiwan. He has been with Glints since May 2021. Prior to joining Glints, he worked at another recruitment company with solid training and commercial success on the job.

According to Brian, Glints is built on three business pillars which cannot be found elsewhere:

  • ● has roots in Asia Pacific, especially Southeast Asia
  • ● focuses on remote and cross-border recruitment
  • ● ambition to build a comprehensive talent platform

These pillars eventually became one of the determining factors for him to join the company.

Brian also discovered a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. In Glints, he is able to start a business unit from scratch and utilize his experiences in recruitment to help optimize Glints’ commercial practices.

Brian has helped Glints to expand its industry coverage.

Since joining, he has been matching great talent to amazing companies in various industries (semiconductors, electronics, ODM/OEM, and startups to name a few), as well as building robust, trusting partnerships with clients.

He feels his journey with Glints has been very rewarding.

Brian also believes that a well-operated and internally-competitive team is essential to aggressive growth.

To prove that point, he consistently shares his experience to his peers. He feels that experience-sharing is an opportunity for self-reflection on his best practices. He would then break down and reorganize his experience into practical, scalable approaches for others to adopt.

3. Tran Phuoc Tri, Recruitment Consultant Team Manager, Vietnam

Let’s meet Tran Phuoc Tri (Dave), the Recruitment Consultant Team Manager for the Vietnam Team of Glints. He is one of the earliest members of Glints in Vietnam.

Dave joined Glints about 3 years ago and had the opportunity to develop his leadership through working on team strategies and training other team members.

He has also helped to build a team of 23 trained recruiters from scratch. The team successfully developed Glints TalentHub in Vietnam, which has contributed significantly to the company's overall growth.

Dave feels empowered by the way Glints innovates recruitment service in Vietnam. He appreciates the way the Leadership Team supports ideation and that Glints is supportive of Glintstars exploring new business ideas or approaches.

The supportive and encouraging environment is the main reason why Dave has been staying with Glints since 2019.

4. Nanda Flashiela Afedra, CRM Specialist, Indonesia

Besides having an eagerness to learn, beginners’ mindset also considers multiple points of view.

This successfully helped Nanda Flashiela Afedra, a CRM Specialist in the Indonesia Team of Glints. She initially kick started her career at Glints as a B2B Marketing Intern.

As an intern, she felt that her opinion was consistently heard and this encouraged her to actively participate in discussions during team meetings.

“Everyone in the team was very open and considerate, and that has helped me to become more understanding towards others.” - Nanda

Nanda also landed the opportunity to learn and implement various automation processes for the Indonesian market during her internship. She was thoroughly involved in the process.

After converting from an intern to a full-time employee, Nanda was appointed as one of the initiators and was trusted to lead the implementation of full-scale automation for the markets in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

This increased work efficiency as the process of progress reporting is now smoother and faster. With data visibility, it has also become easier for team members to be more data-driven.

5. Sarah Aghniya - Senior Consultant Leader, Indonesia

Last but definitely not least, meet Sarah Aghniya. She is the Senior Consultant Leader for the Indonesia team of Glints and started her career as a Marketing Acquisition Intern at Glints.

During her internship, she was entrusted with the responsibility to conduct short interviews with candidates and perform some cold-calls under the supervision of her manager.

Fast forward to today, Sarah is given the opportunity to train and conduct demonstrations to newly-recruited Associate Consultants across all 5 sales teams in Indonesia.

Upon completion of these training sessions, Sarah and the other trainers mentored the newly hired Associate Consultants on the end-to-end recruitment process.

Sarah also conducts additional 1-on-1s with the new consultants on her team. These 1-on-1 check-ins serve as guidance to the new consultants, enabling them to approach candidates with conviction and overcome common blockages.

Such sessions successfully increase conversation within Sarah’s team, creating space for efficient communication and collaboration.

All these stories serve as a testament of how each and every role matters in Glints. Glints is the doorway of opportunities for every Glintstar to learn and impact one another positively.
